Micro-Cap on the Move; Spanish Broadcasting System Inc. (SBSA)

Shares of Spanish Broadcasting System Inc. (NASDAQ: SBSA), a Hispanic-controlled media and entertainment company, are up sharply in trading today.

At last check, SBSA shares were trading 17.11% higher at $3.49 on above average volume of 295,113. The stock touched an intra-day high of $3.84 today.

On Tuesday, Spanish Broadcasting System announced the appointment of Alex Aleman as Senior Vice President of Consolidated Operations. In this role, Aleman will be responsible for the implementation and maintenance of SBSA’s budgets. Aleman will particularly focus on maximizing efficiencies and streamlining operations to achieve maximum potential in the different divisions.

Aleman will report to COO Albert Rodriguez.

Rodriguez said that Aleman’s ample experience in broadcast and media coupled with his invaluable knowledge of the burgeoning Hispanic community makes him a critical asset to the SBSA team.
