Micro-Caps in Focus; Freddie Mac (FMCC), Marlborough Software Development Holdings Inc. (MBGH), Solar Energy Initiatives Inc. (SNRY)

Shares of Freddie Mac (OTC: FMCC), a provider of credit guarantee for residential mortgages originated by mortgage lenders, are up sharply in trading today. At last check, FMCC shares were trading 7.58% higher at $1.42 on volume of 7.79 million. The stock hit an intra-day high of $1.47. Despite the gains in trading today, FMCC shares have fallen 6% in the last three trading sessions.

FMCC on Thursday reported that 30-year fixed mortgage rate in the U.S. posted its biggest weekly percentage increase in over 25 years.

Shares of Marlborough Software Development Holdings Inc. (OTC: MBGH), operating as a software development company in the U.S. and internationally, have skyrocketed in trading today. At last check, MBGH shares were trading 809.09% higher at $0.200 on above average volume of 439,708. The stock hit an intra-day high of $0.45 earlier today.

Back in April, MBGH had reported its financial results for the fourth quarter ended December 31, 2012. The company reported revenue of $2.335 million for the fourth quarter, up 7% on a year-over-year basis. The company’s cash balance at the end of the fourth quarter stood at $2.02 million.

Shares of Solar Energy Initiatives Inc. (OTC: SNRY), a marketer and seller of solar power products, systems and services in the U.S. and the Caribbean, are soaring in trading today. At last check, SNRY shares were trading 16.67% higher at $0.0007 on above average volume of 234.94 million. The stock has gained more than 133% in the last three trading sessions.

According to a filing made by SNRY earlier this week, the company had a net loss of $326,000 for the quarter ended April 30, 2013.
