Micro-Caps on the Move; Northumberland Resources Inc. (NHUR), Hondo Minerals Corp. (HMNC), Cord Blood of America Inc. (CBAI)

Shares of Northumberland Resources Inc. (OTC: NHUR), an exploration stage company engaged in the exploration and production of oil and gas in the U.S., are climbing in trading today. At last check, NHUR shares were trading 11.58% higher at $1.06 on above average volume of 595,826. The stock hit an all-time high of $1.07 earlier today. NHUR shares have gained nearly 50% in the last three trading sessions.

NHUR last month announced that it is continuing to focus on Kansas Mississippi Lime oil projects. The company said that it will be adding more oil and gas production in 2013.

Shares of Hondo Minerals Corp. (OTC: HMNC), a company engaged in acquisition, exploration, and development of mines, mining claims, and mining real estate in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico with mineral reserves consisting of precious metals and non-ferrous metals, are seeing a huge rally in trading today. At last check, HMNC shares were trading 100% higher at $0.190 on above average volume of 1.99 million. The stock hit an intra-day high of $0.22 earlier today.

HMNC shares are gaining momentum after the company announced that it entered into a binding letter of intent with Crowncorp Investments for the sale of 100% of its assets and issued and outstanding stock for a purchase price of $88 million.

Shares of Cord Blood of America Inc. (OTC: CBAI), a provider of private cord blood stem cell preservation services to families in the U.S., Puerto Rico, Germany, Spain, Italy, Argentina, Uruguay, and Paraguay, are rallying in trading today. At last check, CBAI shares were trading 14.71% higher at $0.0039 on above average volume of 42.13 million.

CBAI, last month, reported its financial results for the year ended December 31, 2012. The company’s revenue for 2012 rose 18% to a record $6 million. CBAI’s gross profit for the year rose 20% to $4.2 million.
