Micro-Caps on Watch; AMR Corp. (AAMRQ), Global Clean Energy Inc. (GCEI), Cardiff International Inc. (CDIF)

Shares of AMR Corp. (PINK: AAMRQ), the parent company of American Airlines, have risen sharply in trading today. At last check, AAMRQ shares were trading 13.89% higher at $1.23 on volume of 2.72 million. The stock hit an intra-day high of $1.25 earlier in the day.

AAMRQ shares are gaining momentum amid increasing speculation that the bankrupt airline is close to merging with US Airways Group Inc. (NYSE: LCC). The Wall Street Journal, citing people with knowledge of the situation, recently reported that AAMRQ CEO Thomas Horton is in talks about becoming chairman if his company merges with US Airways.

Shares of Global Clean Energy Inc. (PINK: GCEI), a cleantech corporation engaged in the development and marketing of proprietary technology in waste to energy management, are rallying in trading today.

At last check, GCEI shares were trading 39.44% higher at $0.0495 on above average volume of 5.01 million. The stock hit an intra-day high of $0.06 earlier today. GCEI shares have gained more than 45% in the last three trading sessions.

Earlier this week, GCEI announced the appointment of Steve R. Mann as its Chief Development Officer. The appointment is the direct result of the recently announced joint venture agreement between GCEI and Micro Energies LLC.

Shares of Cardiff International Inc. (OTC: CDIF), a development-stage company engaged in the development of proprietary software system to track and manage consumer purchases, are seeing a huge rally in trading today.

At last check, CDIF shares were trading 132.76% higher at $0.0135 on above average volume of 4.91 million. The stock rose to an intra-day high of $0.02 earlier today.

CDIF shares are soaring today despite there being no recent news or development related to the company. The gains therefore could be due to some stock promotion activity.
