Umpqua To Buy Regional Bank Sterling Financial For $2 Billion

Umpqua Holdings Corp. (NASDAQ: UMPQ) has agreed to acquire regional bank Sterling Financial Corp. (NASDAQ: STSA) in a cash-and-stock deal valued at $2 billion.
