According to a recent filing by FPA Capital, the fund bought shares in DeVry Inc. (NYSE: DV), Newfield Exploration Co. (NYSE: NFX), InterDigital Inc. (NASDAQ: IDCC) and Patterson-UTI Energy Inc. (NASDAQ: PTEN) during the second quarter of 2012.
Based in Downers Grove, Illinois, DeVry is a provider of educational services. It is the parent company of Advanced Academics, Becker Professional Education, Carrington College and Carrington College California, Chamberlain College of Nursing, DeVry Brasil, DeVry University and Ross University.
DeVry shares fell 1.10% to finish at $27.88 on Friday. Year-to-date, the stock has fallen 27.51%, underperforming the S&P 500.
Newfield Exploration shares fell 1.84% to finish at $32.05 on Friday. NFX shares have also underperformed the S&P 500 this year, falling 15.05%, year-to-date.

InterDigital shares fell 2.20% to finish at $27.54 on Friday. The stock has fallen 36.79% this year, compared to a gain of 12.28% for the NASDAQ.
