Micro-Cap in Focus; OriginOil Inc. (OOIL)

Shares of OriginOil Inc. (OTC: OOIL), a developer of technologies to help companies produce algae using a high-speed manufacturing process to replace petroleum in various applications, surged in trading on Thursday.

OOIL shares ended the day 23.76% higher at $1.25 on above average volume of 334,923.

OOIL shares rose after the company announced the launch of oil and gas division, which will aggressively market its continuous-flow, high efficiency and chemical-free technology for frack water cleanup and petroleum recovery.

OOIL’s oil and gas division will be headed by former Dow Chemical manager Bill Charneski. The company also named Dr. R. Gerald Bailey, former President of Exxon, Arabian Gulf, Abu Dhabi and UAE, as Industry Advisor to the unit.
